Follow Up
Annual follow-up on disease incidence and mortality. Extensive medical examinations at the start of the study and after 5 years. Annual follow-up of disease incidence and mortality is in progress, comprising (1) collection of information from participants using an annual follow-up questionnaire specifically directed to chronic diseases that occurred in the past year; (2) linking of participant data to hospital and pharmacy records; and (3) collection of mortality data through existing up-to-date databases from Statistics Netherlands (CBS).
